          Peridynamic Approach for Aerospace Applications

          Bio:

          Dr. Ibrahim Guven graduated from The University of Arizona with a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering. His main research interest is computational solid mechanics analyses of aerospace structures. He published two books, numerous peer-reviewed journal articles focusing on fracture, fatigue, and damage in advanced engineering materials. His research program is supported by Raytheon, NASA, AFRL, Boeing, and Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing. Dr. Guven was a faculty member at the Materials Science and Engineering Department at The University of Arizona before he moved to Virginia Commonwealth University in 2014.  He was a visiting professor at The Institute of Physics within The University of Rennes, France in 2014, 2016, and 2018, and summer faculty fellow at AFRL in 2016 and 2017. Dr. Guven is active in technical committees within AIAA, ASME and IEEE.
